Warhawk Gameplay Tips
These are great Warhawk tips for those interested in
the way I play. The homing missiles can easily take out
somebody in one hit. What I do is get relatively close
to them, constantly firing the machine guns while
simultaneously locking onto him with the homing missile.
If you hit them a few times with the machine gun, it
will drop their health enough so the homing missile will
destroy them easily. BUT while doing this you have to
stay on their butt! keep a medium distance between you
and him, then once your homing missile is locked on, hit
the after burner and fly up as close as you can then let
go of the missile. The closer you are to them, the less
chance they will escape it. And since you took down
their health a little bit with the machine gun, the
missile will do its part and take them down. Now granted
you got close enough to him to have the missile hit,
hopefully this will have taken him out...BUT if it did
not, this persons heath is VERY low. Those homing
missiles do serious damage, and once his health is
dropped as low as it is, a quick pursuit of the machine
gun will take them out almost instantly.
Here are a few basic tips on how to do some serious warhawk killing. (from the way I do it)
-Be on the offense, always! Since following somebody is
quite easy, even if they maneuver a lot. Just watch the
map and see where they are. Plus, if you constantly are
pursuing somebody you will have the advantage.

-Two weapons that will grant you victory is the swarm
missiles, and the homing missiles. Always grab the
yellow icon homing missile when you can, it is the
easiest, VERY powerful missile you can use against other warhawks. And if you can find somebody with 80% or less
health.. you can take them down with one hit. Its very
easy to go on a killing spree with these, as I usually
take people down with each one. But always make sure to
use boosters and get as close as you can. The missile is
slow but deadly. The swarm missiles are also crucial to
destroying the other guy..not so much on their own,
since they don't do much damage unless you can get all 8
locked on ones to hit. Use these under quick firefights,
where you don't have enough room to lock onto the person
with a homing missile. Usually these work great when the
person is trying to get behind you, but you keep
powersliding and getting a brief look at the side of
their aircraft (basically doing circles with each other)..
and the swarm missiles lock on time is very short, and
you can at least release one or two depending on how
good of a look at them you can get.
-Afterburners! Use this as often as you can, it makes
you less of a target if your flying by major shootouts
going the speed of light. Also, its very useful for
pursuing other people when using homing missiles. And if
not anything else, it gets you around the map quicker,
and getting weapons a lot faster or before somebody else
can.
-Learn how to dodge missiles! Its very easy to dodge
missiles without the chaffs. All you do is pull up on
the L3, and use the R3 stick to do a lot of spinning
maneuvers (as your flying upwards, to the side, and
backwards). Use this technique with a afterburner, and
you will avoid even the most ferocious of missiles.

-The machine gun is your friend. I have gotten more
kills with this weapon than any of the other ones.
Mainly because by the time you hit somebody multiple
times with various missiles and they still live..their
health is very low, and a few hits with the MG will take
them down quickly. Plus its actually a very effective
gun, and drains health very fast. And great for
pre-missile launch strikes.
-Learn the maps. Learn where weapons and health are
located. If you know the locations of these things, you
will have a major advantage.
Anyway, what really counts in this game, and something
none of us can tell you about, or how to do it. Is
experience. All it takes is trial and error. Find out
what works, and keep doing it. All you have to do is
play and eventually you will get your own techniques and
ways of doing things. And you will end up as good as
anybody else. After all, I was not taught how to play, I
just played and learned things on my own...and as
humans, we are all capable of doing this. You just have
to be able to learn.
