Wii - Metroid Prime 3: Corruption |
Review - The Pros and Cons of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption

Pros: Beautiful. Spectacular Voice Acting.
Tons of interaction. Great Physics. Cool Characters.
Awesome enemies and bosses. Story driven but full of
action. Fun cut scenes. Gorgeous layered geometry.
Textures are crisp, especially on the alien planets.
This game puts you right into the Varia Suit. You
control almost everything with arm and hand movement.
Make sure the Wii resolution setting is set at 480P if
you own a widescreen TV. One of the most-hyped games for
the Wii this year, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption utilizes
the Wii controllers very well. One could almost feel
like they were in the game. The Graphics are just
stunning for the Wii! Everything is smooth as butter,
too.
Cons: Quite a workout. Make sure your chair
has arm rests because the movement requires constantly
pointing at the screen. If you let go of the remote,
Samus goes into a constant spin. This isn't really a
con, but the game can be exhausting to play. Doors
sometimes take a few seconds to open. You won't be
switching in between 4 different guns anymore. Actually
you won't be switching at all. :-( Also beating it on
normal only took 15:07 which is a bit short compared to
the other 2, but what are ya gonna do?

Other Thoughts: It's a very fun and addicting
game. Casual gamers will have to get used to a somewhat
complex control scheme. Its not a mouse and keyboard
which requires thinking when accessing the buttons on
the remote and nunchuck... This is a "must buy" for all
Wii owners. Go out and get it if you haven't already.
This is one of the best games I have ever brought for
the Wii. I used to hate Console FPS games cause of the
current dual Analog control scheme. Unlike the current
dual Anolog controls, the whole screen only moves if you
aim at the edges, allowing to you to shoot everything on
the screen easily and allows you to play for longer
periods without getting a headache (like early FPS, 007
Goldeneye, for N64 using a Wiimote). It is very
responsive, so you don't have to worry about the Lags
when aiming/targeting another as in the analog sticks
movements. With controls like this, FPS games are well
on its way back to the top of my list.
