Forge FAQ for Halo 3
Forge Questions:
-Are crates the only things that can be used to block
doorways so the enemy can't get inside your base? (How
many types of crates are there?)
You can spawn almost anything from the halo world. If
you want to make a wall of plasma coils... go right
ahead. It is just that making a wall of boxes is easier
to place and harder to move in-game.
-Can you make the camouflage have an infinite amount of
invisibility?
You can set the time of the powerup (and actually have
different enhancements with one pickup!) I think the max
is 5 minutes, but I'll get back to you tonight when I
check
-Can the Hornet be added to any map especially High
Ground?
You can place ANY vehicle on ANY map. ANY ANY ANY ANY
(except for the elephant.. it's a mobile base)
-What are all the items that you can put on the maps
besides weapons, vehicles, crates?
Player spawns, objective points (the flag, territory
placement, etc), powerups, and a crap load of other junk.
(you can make things stay in the air! hint hint: banshee
king of the hill!)
-Is there a mode that you can make each person have a
certain amount of lives, and once there all used up, your
dead for good. (It would be cool to have a team vs a team
where everyone has just one life, could make it
interesting)
I'll check, but I don't see why not. Maybe try playing
with the infection variant.
-How many people can ride the Hornet? (If more than one
can ride it, can they fire their weapons that they
already have before they got on it, or do they have
turrets on the Hornet that they can use?)
1 (one). It's like the banshee.
-Can you make one team have certain things that the
other team doesn't have, like one team is able to jump
really high while the other team can't?
You can give everyone a global bonus, and you could
place powerups at the spawns. I'll check about the one
team bonus thing though!
-If you have a gravity hammer and jump off a cliff or
somewhere high and hit a Banshee or a Hornet that is
flying in the air with it, will the aircraft blow up?
Depending on how close you hit (yes, distance DOES
matter), you deal a certain amount of damage. In the
latest bungie video, someone hammered a warthog, but
didn't destroy it. I'll have to check it tonight.
What is the game's native resolution(s) before upscaling?
720p, 1080i, or 1080p?
Halo 3 runs 1080p natively, as Microsoft (and bungie)
announced at last year's TGS.
