XBOX 360 - Halo 3

Skull Guide for Halo 3

My guide to your skulls. Use it wisely lol. Well here it goes...

GOLD SKULLS
They are the skulls that can be used on the Single player/Multiplayer/Co-op scoring thing for Campaign. There are about nine of these.

SILVER SKULLS
Just for fun skulls I guess. Can't be used for the Campaign scoring thing. Four of them.

UPDATES:
--Skulls can only be obtained if you start at the beginning of the level. You cannot start at a Alpha or Bravo point.
--Do not say name once picked up.
--No flash like in Halo 2.
--Can be obtained on any difficulty but Easy.
--If you pick up a Silver Skull nothing will happen. You still get the on/off option at the Skull Menu.

UNKNOWN SKULLS:
Yes there is a Unnamed skull. I found it lol. But my hopes that I was the first one to find it was shattered. Maybe this was the first location for Blind to be put but then Bungie decided to put it in the first level. Then forgot to take the other Blind out. Maybe?

Skull: "Unnamed"
Level: Cortana
Location: Where you get to the part where you have to destroy the three generators, your in the room. See the ceiling? Get up there on top of it. There is the skull.
Effect: Turns out this is just basically another Blind Skull. Don't know why Bungie put it in, but it's in. And its effects are basically like Blind.

GOLD SKULLS

Skull: Iron
level: Sierra 117
Location: In the area toward the end of the level where you have to rescure the Sgt., there should be a small hanger, with like a few things in it., Generators? Well, right before you enter that room there is a pathway above you. Get up there. Either use a gravity hammer to get up there or use anything around you to jump up there. Follow the path and in that dark at the end, is Iron.
Effect
: If you die on co-op with this skull active, don't expect to try to respawn your partner. You have to restart.

Skull: Black Eye
Level: Crow's Nest
Location: As soon as the level starts, look up. There should be a big pipe held up by wires. Yea, the skulls up there. While your walking towards the stairs to get on with the level, look straight. See the metal thing that you can barely jump on? Jump on it. Look towards the pipe higher up. Jump on the red beams. Then jump on the pipe above. Look towards to where you started the level. Go straight, the skull is at the end.
Effect: For ever kill you get by beating down an opponent or for every assassination you get an extra shield bar.

Skull: Tough Luck
Level: Tsavo Highway
Location: Right after you get past the first Covenant barrier, you should be in a cave type place. Keep on going. You should be on a bridge, and about half way across the bridge, its split in half. Well that's not where the skull is. At the beginning of the highway, you can jump off to the left. Then there's that big pillars for the bridge. And well beside that is a huge pit. Go around that pillar to the very left. Follow it. Then when you can't go anymore, turn left. The skull is on the rock platform. Jump across, and pick up the skull. Tough luck if you fall off, I can't help you there.
Effect: Enemies will not run away. Get ready to take them full on. Even the little Grunts ^.^

Skull: Catch
Level: The Storm
Location: Where you first destroy the anti-air Wraith. There should be a small water tank? Well, grenade jump onto it. And the skull is right in the middle. This skull is not that hard to get. If you can't get it, then well, why are you here?
Effect: Enemies throw a he|| of a lot more bombs. Deadly dodgeball. So dodge =].

NOTE: Whatever you do, DO NOT DESTORY THE WRAITHS. Or well, at least until you get the skull. If you do, the skull will disappear and then whoever doesn't have the skull will read this guide and get all P.O.ed at me because they destroyed the Wraiths and the skull isn't there.

Skull: Fog
Level: FloodGate
Location: At the very start of the level, go to where you are by the destroyed buildings and the broken road. Only about a 10-15 second run till your there. When you jump onto the broken road look up and to the right. See telephone wires and poles? Good. You should. If you do, look a little to the right and below that on the roof. There should eventually be a Flood Combat Form holding the skull. Kill it, and he drops it. Go pick it up.
Effect: For all of those people who can't live without the motion sensor, good luck. Your motion sensor is gone.

NOTE: Kill the Flood Combat Form fast or else it will jump away. You will never see it again unless you restart the level or checkpoint if you got one. Also, try to kill it a few seconds before it jumps. Cause if you kill it right when it appears, it will drop the skull onto the roof it is on or another roof close by. Kill it right when its at the edge of the building, or as close as it gets to the edge. That way there is a better chance it will drop the skull around your general area.

Skull: Famine
Level: The Ark
Location: Well, as best as I can describe it. Here goes. Right before you fall jump/walk/drive off the cliff that leads to the door that 343 Guilty Spark opens, turn right right as you fall off that cliff. There should be a bridge type thing with pilles/suspenders above it. On the piller/suspender that is closest to the door that 343 Guilty Spark opens, there is the skull on it. You will need to grenade jump to get up there. It's in the dark area right at the intersection to where the piller and the suspender meet. The Vid will help a lot more.
Effect: Any gun picked up, will have less ammo. All I can say, hope you have some extra clips, your gonna need them.

Skull: Thunderstorm
Level: The Covenant
Location: When you get to that part, "If You Want It Done Right...", get into a Hornet and fly forward. Ignore the fighting and destruction and head until you see a large structure to your right. See the part sticking out a lot? Land the Hornet there, and head up the walk way to the part that is sticking out the most. There it is. Thunderstorm.
Effect: Field promotions for everybody. If you know what I mean. If not, here you go. Every, and I mean, every enemy you will ever fight with this skull active, is now the highest rank that enemy can be. Best armor and everything.

Skull: Tilt
Level: Cortana
Location: When you get to the room where Cortana talks about how she likes to play games to, look up. See that purple platform, get up there. On the left of the purple platform there should be some Flood like platforms to jump on. Jump on those, then a little high from those will be a Flood like walkway/bridge. Get on there and walk up to the top of the ceiling. There it is lying by some bones. Tilt.
Effect: Some enemy armors are better resistant to some weapons. Like the Brutes armor. When this skull is active, good luck trying to gun one down with a human weapon. Better to mow them down with plasma. I will update later for which armors have which resistance.

Skull: Mythic
Level: Halo
Location: Just follow your regular path. If anything, follow The Arbitar. Until you get to that part where your in a cave type thing. Once your in, a few yards up start to look directly right, there will be a separate pathway. Follow the path, and there it is. Mythic.
Effect: Enemies have more health. Maybe double. Yes, it's like a whole new difficulty on Legendary.

SILVER SKULLS

Skull: Blind
Level: Sierra 117
Location: When you get to the waterfall where the first phantom drops off a few covies, kill them. To the right of the waterfall is a few rock cliffs. On the lowest one at the edge is a skull. It Is Blind.
Effect: Makes your Hud (Heads Up Display) well, disappear. Your shield at the top is invisible, your ammo indicator is invisible, your grenade indicator is invisible, and whatever is left is also invisible. Everything disappears.

Skull: Grunt Birthday Party
Level: Crow's Nest
Location: Go to where you have to drop down to where you will get bum rushed by a few Drones in a tunnel type thing. You will know cause right before you drop down the hole, there is a dead body. Go through the short tunnel, passing the Drones or killing them. Stop at the edge before you fall off. Look down and there should be a small ledge below you. It leads to a tunnel under you. Now be careful not to fall off and miss the edge. Take your time with that. Then once your down there, just head down the tunnel and there it is. Not to far away.
Effect: A whole new meaning to Grunts. Every time you kill one, kids cheer like a party is going on. If you kill them with certain guns, confetti pops out. So far the Battle Rifle is the only one I know that makes confetti fly out.

Skull: CowBell
Level: The Ark
Location: After you destroy the scarab, you end up at the part, "Real men don't need maps..." Or something like that. It's the door that 343 Guilty Spark takes forever to open. Go through there, down one floor, to where you start the fight against a lot of Grunts and a few Brutes. Just skip that, and go to where your supposed to go another floor down. You should be on a flat ramp going down. The walls to the left of you are mostly glass. To the top left are a few openings going down the wall. The very top one has the skull in it. Use a gravity lift and place it a little before half way down the ramp. Take your time while jumping up cause it can be hard. Make sure you get a checkpoint because if you don't get up in time, your gravity lift will drain and then you will need to go all the way back up to the Scarab to go find another one.
Effect: Explosions explosions everywhere. Add a bigger "Bang" to your "Boom". According to the description of the skull that is what it does. Sputnik anybody?

NOTE: YOU NEED GRAVITY LIFT. You can find one in that semi-small structure in the middle of the place where you have to destroy the Scarab. They are around the very middle of the structure. The grenades explosion does not cause more damage. Just things go flying easier.

Skull: I Would Of Been Your Daddy
Level: The Covenant
Location: In the room where The Arbiter kills Truth. Kill the rest of the Flood in the room to get less distractions. See the holographic halo rings that Truth lit in the cut scene? You need to jump in them. In a certain order. The order are the keys that the Halo theme is played on piano. "456576541232721346754654534".
Effect: Rare dialog is played more often.

NOTE: The first Halo Ring is the one closest to the elevator. The next one is the one after that. And so on until you get to the seventh Ring which is closest to where you confronted Truth. If you did it right, with the order, then the rings will start to flash every second or so. ONCE YOU GET SKULL YOU MUST BEAT LEVEL. If you don't the skull won't be in the on/off Skull Menu.
