Please read the following FAQ before submitting a guide to us:
How exactly does this site work?
It's simple, you submit a guide to us (with the conditions listed below) and we
pay you a FAIR PRICE via
PayPal after you have signed the agreement we send to you. We then get paid back slowly overtime through advertising
which allows us to pay for more guide writers. Thanks to GameVania.com
everyone benefits!
What games are you accepting guides/articles for?
We are currently looking for guides/articles on ANY video game out there! However
the more newer the game is, the higher the payout you will receive for the guide
you submit. you can still write guides for older games but your payout
will be less and less the older the game gets. Also, all Blizzard Entertainment
games can be submitted here, but they will end up on
BlizzardGuides.com!
What kind of Guides are you guys looking for?
We are looking for walkthroughs, tips, secrets, strategies, previews and reviews. If you simply
browse through this site you can get an idea of what others have written about.
UNIQUE CONTENT! - This is
important! We only accept unique content! We use
Copyscape and other
methods to scan guides to make sure they are unique and not just copied or
duplicated from other places. So don't even bother trying to trick us with
duplicate content!
Please check our site first if the
guide you want to write about already exists!
We pay more for guides that are currently not on the site. By taking a look
at our current guides, if you see a certain topic/strategy/guide does not
currently exist, we will pay more for these! You can use the search
function at the top of the site to search for guides that already exist on the
site. You can always
ask us first before
writing up a certain guide and we will give you a general idea of how much it
would be worth it to us.
So it is important to pick topics that are not currently covered in this
site. We try our best to keep this site clean and useful for everyone!
After submitting the guide to you, can I then use my guide
at other places (such as forums)?
No, if your guide is accepted you will sign a "work made for
hire" agreement that
basically implies that we will own the rights of the article if we publish it on this site. We highly suggest that after
your guide gets published on our site to simply link to it from where ever you
like. That would be the ideal way to show others your guide. You can always click
on one of the social buttons (such as the Facebook Like button) on your guide
page to let your friends know about your guide.
How much are you going to pay us per guide?
This depends on many factors, including how many words the guide contains, and
most importantly, how good we think the guide is. Here is the base prices for
basically what we pay for how many words the guide contains, according to what
game it is:
| Game guides that have the highest
payout:

Starcraft 2
Diablo 3
SWTOR
Game Tester articles

Remember this is just a BASE price, we will add or subtract to this amount
according to many factors. Such as:
|
Things that subtract from price |
Things that add to price |
-Spelling/grammar errors we have to fix.
-An article that already exists on this site.
-An article that seems less helpful for people.
-An article that gives vague information on the given subject.
|
-An article that is free of errors and grammar
mistakes.
-An article that does not exist on the site currently.
-An article that is very helpful for people.
-An article that looks like an expert wrote it for the given
subject.
-A unique video that you provide a download link for us. |
We also pay more for images and especially unique videos you send to us (more on this below).
Remember, quality over quantity is our philosophy, so write guides that you
feel others will greatly benefit from! If you do this, you will receive a
higher payout. Also, we cover all PayPal fees, so you will get the full
amount shown on the contract!
How can I be sure you are really going to pay me?
If your guide is accepted we will send you a "work
made for hire" agreement for you to sign that includes the price that we want to
buy the guide for. Contracts are very powerful, in that if you sign it and
we publish the article,
then we have to pay you the amount shown on the contract. If you write a
good article for us, we simply make sure we pay you so you will keep on writing
more articles for us in the future.
How are you going to send the agreement, and what info are
you going to need from me?
We send the agreement digitally through PDF, and you simply digitally (or
electronically) sign your first and last name along with your mailing address.
Besides that, the person signing must be at least 18 years of age or older.
If you are under 18 you must get a parent or guardian to sign for you.
I don't care to be paid or to sign contracts, I just want to write a guide for
you!
That is no problem, if for some reason you do not want to be paid via PayPal and
not have to worry about agreements,
then you have the option on the Submit Guide Form to avoid contracts and being paid.
I do not use Paypal, can you send me money with another
method?
We are not accepting other forms of payment at this time. However if for some
reason you cannot use Paypal, please send us a message suggesting another method
you would rather be paid by. If we get enough requests for that method we
may implement that in the future. Keep in mind we will cover all Paypal
fees, so you don't have to!
What about Images and Videos, can we include them in the
guides?
YES! Please do! If you send us unique images/videos (images/videos that
are not on other sites currently) we will pay you a lot more for your efforts!
About Images: If you feel like there is an image that is important to include
in the article, then please include the image. If it is a general "stock" image,
please do not submit those. We will take care of all general "stock" images in
the articles we get!
The way we recommend sending unique videos to us is to first make sure the
videos are compressed enough so their not HUGE downloads. Then simply upload
them somewhere such as 2Shared.com or
sendspace.com and put a
link in the guide to that download so we can download it and then we will then
do all the work to implement the video into the guide.
The same thing applies to images too! With images you can send them to
postimage.org,
photobucket.com, or
imageshack.us.
YOUTUBE INFO: Videos that you
uploaded to your own YouTube account will not pay you as nearly as much as if
you simply let us hold the video on our YouTube account here at GameVania.
Can I put links in my guide that point to my website?
NO. We are not interested in link exchange
via articles either. So please do not bother trying to send us spam
messages hoping that we will put them on this site because they will be ignored.
Can I put links in my guide that point to my website (even
if I submit the guide for free)?
Usually this is a no! But from time to time I might make some exceptions.
And this all depends on what your website is about and how good of an article
you will write for us. Please communicate
with us first about what article you want to write about and what the URL of
the link you want to embed in the article. If we approve, then yes!
Please Add SubHeaders to your article!
Subheadings are simply an excellent way to make your articles more readable and
presentable to web surfers. We ask all writers to include them into your
articles. In case you do not know what they are, check out this
Picture Here, and please note
that all subheadings are circled red in that example article picture.
Other things to keep in mind::
We may alter the guide you submit to us. For example, we may add additional
pictures to spruce up the guide to make it more presentable, we may put
additional advertisements within the guide, we may add links to other sites if we feel is necessary.
GUIDE FORMAT: You have the option
to submit your guide in plain text or with a file upload where you can use Rich
Text format. If you use PLAIN TEXT, we will then do all the work to include the
videos, images, bolding of text, etc. into the guide. For example, we want
PLAIN TEXT guides to be submitted
LIKE THIS, and we will turn it
into
THIS. Notice how the
images are simply in place with a URL that we can use to get the image from.
Same thing applies to videos, just upload them and provide a link.
Remember we pay more for images, and especially videos! When using the
file upload, please make sure its a NON-word
document, just use a simple rich text editor. You can simply use your email
client to write your guide up and then save it as a file and then upload it.
If you submit a guide to us that requires work on our part to fix grammar or
spelling errors, it will cost you in a lowered payment. So make sure to proof
read it and fix it all up before submitting your guides to us!!
About Guides You Want to Update in the
Future:
After submitting an article to us that gets published on our site and you would
like to update it later, then that is no problem! Simply resend the updated
article to us through our email with the subject line of: Article Update -
YOUR ARTICLE (this is so it filters into our inbox correctly, just
make sure it at least has the phrase Article Update in it). We
will then update it on the site for you as quick as we can.
